Local 1445 members, and their family members, may be eligible for a variety of scholarships, based upon various criteria. The scholarships available to Local 1445 members are:

• The MA AFL-CIO/UFCW Local 1445 scholarship - two awards of $1,000 each; College-bound high school seniors only.
  The deadline for applying for this scholarship is December 19, 2008 so get your application in ASAP!
  For more information and application forms go to the Massachusetts AFL-CIO website. BE SURE TO NOTIFY YOUR SCHOOL that you are signing up to take the test, especially if you live outside of Massachusetts.
• The UFCW Local 1445 essay scholarships; College-bound high school seniors only.
• The UFCW Local 1445 lottery scholarship - one award of $1,000; Trade/vocational school-bound high school seniors, or MEMBERS planning to resume their college education. (If you are currently an undergraduate student, you would not be eligible for this award.)
• The UFCW Local 1445 Nicole Berman memorial scholarship - undergraduate students.
• The UFCW Local 1445 Women's Network Beppie McNally memorial scholarship - undergraduate students.
• The John G. Silva scholarship - two awards of $1,000; Gloucester High School seniors only.

High school seniors and undergraduate students who are members, or the children or spouses of members, of Local 1445 may also be eligible for additional scholarships. For more information visit these webpages:
